I used my small cookie scoop to form the dough for these half-sized ginger cookies, before dropping the balls into a pan of sugar to coat. The result was my idea of perfect Molasses Crinkles: small, fragrant, spicy, a bit crispy on the outside while still soft on the inside. Spiced Chocolate Cream Cheese Spread
A little brown sugar, along with cinnamon, chili and chocolate, adds an appealing hint of heat to velvety cool cream cheese. Top with chocolate curls and cocoa powder then serve with ginger snaps or shortbread cookies for a pretty deconstructed cheesecake to share with friends.
Sweet Strawberry Salsa
Sometimes I just can’t follow a recipe to save my life. Last weekend I set out to make Alanna’s Strawberry Salsa. Then, with additions and substitutions of cinnamon basil, fresh ginger, pineapple and a splash of balsamic vinegar, I had a fresh fruit salsa that was fragrant, tart-sweet, and just a little bit spicy. Cheesecake also rates high on the list of desserts I like to make. While cheesecake recipes often seem quite long and potentially complicated, in […]
Ninth Street House Zucchini Bread
Around page 75 of Cooking With Curtis Grace, there is a recipe for Zucchini Bread. It makes two lightly spiced, delightfully moist and nutty loaves of quick bread. This is the best Zucchini Bread I have ever tasted and it is probably the only recipe for Zucchini Bread I will ever use.
Pretty Tea Crazed Quail Eggs
Pretty and a bit intriguing, this recipe shows off the diminutive size and unique shell characteristics of these Farmer’s Market finds. Not only are Tea Crazed Quail Eggs delightful to look at, their spicy sweet flavor make them delicious too.
