A Crowd-pleasing Batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies
Christmas is just a few weeks away and the baking has begun. I love holiday baking. To me that means cookies – usually the fancy festive kind. All the same, last weekend I found myself baking what may be the most common variety of cookie in the world… Chocolate Chip.
And why not? These universal pleasers are quick and easy to put together from ingredients many people have on hand. Beyond the basics, all you need to make them is a bag of chocolate chips. Even the walnuts or pecans in the recipe are optional. While these cookies are admittedly on the homely side, they smell wonderful, are well loved and bring a smile to almost every face.
Hot from the oven these Chocolate Chip Cookies pleased my family. They also satisfied a room full of guests who come with a variety of their own food preferences. They may not be the prettiest cookies that ever graced a holiday buffet but, more often than not, they are gone so fast that no one will notice.

a chocolate chip cookie is never as good as it is the first few minutes after vacating the oven. methinks that's what heaven must be like. 🙂
